Farming History:  The Milkcan Corner Farm began with a little girl’s dream of owning a farm with horses! She was inspired by her grandfather who’s hands were always in the dirt and always growing something. Her grandfather would tell her stories of raising rabbits, canning fresh water and struggling to grow enough food for the family during the depression days in Germany. Little did she realize what an impact it would have on her life! During the late 70′s her husband, Dan and three sons (Peter, Mark & Page) lives were about to change. She decided it was time to purchase a tractor. A 52 John Deere tricycle front end tractor that her Aunt and Uncle helped her to purchase.

The name for her farm originated from a platform bench that was located at the end of the Mutton Rd. The farmer’s in Webster would put their milkcans on that bench and the raw milk would then be shipped to Concord, NH for processing and bottling. The farms and the platforms are gone but hopefully the name Milkcan Corner will be remembered.
